EXTENDED WATER OUTAGE - BROOKLYN
EXTENDED WATER OUTAGE - BROOKLYN
While repairs were underway, crews discovered an additional crack in the pipeline. This needs to be fixed safely before water can be restored, which has extended the outage.

We acknowledge the disruption this has caused and are working at pace to resolve this. Water tankers are on site for essential needs at 45 Connaught Street. We'll have staff door knocking and arranging for bottled water to be delivered to homes if necessary.

Portaloos have been arranged and will be onsite at approximately 7 pm. Addresses to be notified.

Thank you for your patience — we know this is a difficult time of day to be without water, and we really appreciate your understanding

Our team is working as quickly as possible, and we’ll update you again as soon as water restoration is close. Further updates will be provided as we progress with the repair.

Have your say on managing stormwater to reduce pollution

Wellington Water is inviting you to have your say on a draft strategy for reducing the discharge of pollution from the urban stormwater networks in Porirua, Wellington, Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt.

The draft Stormwater Management Strategy focuses on removing contamination at source, and planning improvements at a sub-catchment (suburb or neighbourhood) level. You can read more about it here

To help you understand the strategy, ask questions and provide feedback, Wellington Water is hosting three public workshops in February, two online and one in-person as follows:

  • 14 February 11:30-1:00pm (online)
  • 15 February 12:00-1:30pm (online)
  • 16 February 5:30pm-7.30pm at Rutherford House, Mezzanine Level RHMZ2, Victoria University of Wellington, Pipitea campus, 33 Bunny Street.

If you’re keen to attend, please RSVP to stormwater@wellingtonwater.co.nz by Friday 10 February, letting us know which workshop you want to attend, and we will send an electronic notification with all the necessary details.
